Dumbing down of America

The fact that the ebook/knowledgeware scene is so underground resounds to me a great truth about our society. It firstly proves the fact that the average person no longer reads to absorb their information. Since the proliferation of the IQ sapping television, print media has taken a huge hit. The problem with Television though, is that it is solely owned by a few corporations. There is no freedom of speech or public representation on TV. This produces the obvious corporate bias and spin-doctored perspectives (propaganda) to be delivered as truth to the average time drained person.

The second thing that this proves to me is how our society has been the deliberate dumbing down of the average educated person. The United States' education standings keeps falling behind other nations - but this is what the ruling class desires. It does not benefit them to turn out critical-thinking educated proletariat. Instead, the system in place teaches minds to follow the established system - to not step out of line and question their rules. With 8 years of the Bush doctrine - denying of science and rational thought - the ruling class has amassed themselves even more power, while infringing on the rights of the people. Under the patriot act, even questioning the government and established system labels you as a terrorist.

Orwell is rolling in his grave. 1984 was 2000-2009. All the skeletons in the closet are now falling out. There is hope yet for us. Obama is wired into the new generation and lead a astonishing grassroots revolution. He understands and gets what the people really want. Under his administration we are seeing and exposing all the parties that have been fucking us over. The dwindling economy is exposing Wall street for what it really is.

Change is here.

I leave you with the book Deliberate Dumbing Down of America written by Charlotte Thomson Iserbyt, former Senior Policy Advisor in the US Department of Education, who blew the whistle on government activities.
